Cost Per Acquisition [CPA] or sometimes Cost Per Action is the actual cost of an advertisement that results in acquiring a new customer. CPA is a method of paying for ads. ("For every customer I get from your ads, I will pay you $X dollars.") Compares with other methods of payment for advertising, such as CPC (Cost Per Click) or the cost per impression for an advertisement, or paying a flat rate for an ad (such as an outdoor billboard).
